Information from Nigel Mayglothling, BUSA

EUSA, the pan-European Universities Sports Association have awarded hosting rights for the first Official European Universities Rowing Regatta to GB. The first EUSA Regatta will be organised by British Universities Rowing (BUR) and held on the new Cardiff Docklands Course from July 22-24 2005, in conjunction with the Home Countries International.

The event is a "Champions Cup" for single-University crews, preferably those who have won their national student championships but as the first EUSA rowing event this regatta will be open to all University crews to compete in, regardless of their finish at their national student championships. Events are Men and Womens 8o, 4-, 2-, 4x, 2x, and Lightweight M & W 4- and 2x.

Further information will be released in early 2005, early contact enquiries can be made to nigel.mayglothling@nottingham.ac.uk on 00 44 (0)115 951 5516 or via the EUSA website www.eusa-unisport.org

British University Crews wishing to be selected to represent BUR GB at this event are advised to race at the BUR Head (Feb 27 2005) and MUST race in their boat class at the BUSA Regatta (April 30/May 1 2005).

Footnote - The EUSA regatta clashes directly with the Under-23 World Regatta being held in Amsterdam. EUSA have no choice about the date for use of the Cardiff course, and while it may affect some individuals most will still be able to compete.
