Oxford Torpids 2005

The Rowing Service

Oxford, 23rd-26th February 2005

Introduction:

In bumps races at Oxford, the awarding of "blades" is left to the colleges, so definitions may differ around the university. Some colleges award blades to colleges who go up four or more places, others require that you do not get bumped at all. But in Torpids, where people can get bumps after being bumped, the most common definition of blades is that you have gone up one or more places each day. Each college's Boat Club constitution should say what the definition of blades is - and this may include discretionary blades if a crew rows over but still bumps up a lot, and/or if some of racing is cancelled. Information checked and amended 1st March 2005.

Here are the lists of colleges who went up at least once each day, with those who were bumped themselves *starred. It is now up to their colleges/senior members to decide if they get blades or not. Some colleges who overbumped most days, but rowed over one and were not caught, may also be awarded bumps.
