The Amateur Rowing Association is the main organisational body of England. Those wishing to row competitively in public races in England must register as ARA members. This web page contains information for registration, including forms which may be printed out from the Internet, and faxed or sent by "snailmail".  Separate SARA, WARA and IARA organisations deal with rowing in Scotland, Wales and Ireland respectively.

  1. Registration form for new members

  2. Membership renewal form for those with lapsed membership

  3. Entry form for crews racing at regattas

  4. How to contact the ARA

  5. Calculating points for crew status

Three articles in issue 97 of Regatta:

  6. ARA - Destroying the myths of amateurism
  7. ARA - Amateur' references becoming archaic
  8. ARA - Council shorts

  9. Rowing Service ARA Index

Please note that contacting the ARA by telephone will not normally speed up your registration or the confirmation of status points.

The ARA may be contacted by post to 6, Lower Mall, Hammersmith, London W6 9DJ.  Telephone is 0181-748-3632 and fax 0181-741-4658. At present the ARA is not on email or the Web.

The ARA will be providing an on-line searchable database for membership numbers and status points within the next year.

The ARA can also provide information on clubs, races, national team selection and the British International Rowing Organisation.
