8th February 2005: Can Chemistry be Green?

We all rely on the products of the chemical industry to maintain our current standards of living. Is it possible to continue manufacturing these products without the environmental burdens which have blighted the chemical industry in the past? More importantly, can we increase the production in a sustainable way to meet the aspirations of people in developing countries like Ethiopia?

But how good are you at judging environmental impact anyway? Is the coffee cup that you are using at this moment "environmentally friendly"?

Come along and join us at 7pm in Blackwells Main Bookshop, Broad Street, Oxford.
