Tuesday 12th October 2010: Antioxidants in food

The buzzword 'antioxidant' is often mentioned in connection with food. What are antioxidants, what do they do and where can you find them? Is this yet another bit of pseudoscience dreamed up by advertising copywriters, or is it an important aspect of how we eat? More generally, how does what we eat have an impact on the long-term health of our body?

Sports nutrition expert Dr Lisa Ryan from Oxford Brookes University comes to set the record straight, and tell us about the important issue of 'oxidative stress' in human health.

Come along and join us at 7:30pm in Blackwells Main Bookshop, Broad Street, Oxford.
No ticket, no booking, no scientific background required.
